Gantry Cranes

Single-Girder Gantry Crane

Where there is no overhead runway to build on, the gantry carries its own structure. Two legs run on rails set into the yard or floor and support a single box girder with an electric hoist beneath it, giving the same hook coverage as an overhead crane without touching the building.

Legs are bolted to the girder through flange plates, so the whole machine can be shipped flat and assembled on site. One leg can be made rigid and the other articulated to absorb rail-gauge tolerance over long runs.

Cantilever ends can be added on one or both sides of the span so that the hook reaches beyond the rails — useful for loading lorries parked alongside the track.

Outdoor machines are supplied with rail clamps, storm anchors, an anemometer if required, and a fully sealed IP54 or IP65 electrical package.
