Monorail & KBK
A monorail is one beam and one hoist. Where material always travels the same route — out of a press, along the line, into a paint booth — a single suspended or floor-supported I-beam with a travelling hoist does the whole job at a fraction of the cost of a bridge crane.
The track can be a standard I-beam, a patent track or a KBK profile, suspended from the roof or carried on its own columns where the roof cannot take the load.
Curves and switches let one hoist serve more than one destination, and interlocked end stops keep the trolley on the intended branch.
Travel can be by hand push, hand chain or an electric trolley motor with variable-frequency control for smooth stopping at each station.
