Gantry Cranes

Double-Girder Gantry Crane

For heavier loads and longer spans the gantry is built with two box girders and a trolley that runs on top. The portal frame is braced in both directions, and the machine can be supplied rail-mounted, semi-gantry with one leg running on a wall corbel, or on rubber tyres for full freedom of movement in the yard.

Structural design follows the same rules as a heavy overhead crane: box sections, full-penetration welds at the leg-to-girder connection, and stress relief before final machining of the wheel seats.

Semi-gantry variants save floor space where one side of the run can be carried on the building structure, and tyre-mounted machines steer through 90° so they can be driven between storage rows.

Trolleys are available with main and auxiliary hooks, spreader beams for containers or precast panels, and a full anti-sway package.
